After the earthquake of 23 November 1980, Andrea, a young geologist, works in a devastated Irpinia, up against precarious lives, environmental ruin, overbearing local bosses and inept politicians and experts. The love of Stefania, and his return to the places of his childhood, help him hold on, as the tremors of the ground mingle with those of the soul.
