Summer 1967. The sun shines on Boundary Pond, a lake on the border renamed by Pierre Landry, a Canuck trapper whose distant memory is turning into legend. It is a time of laughter and carefree days: Zaza Mulligan and Sissy Morgan dance with hula hoops on the warm sand, the children run along the beach and the radio crackles with the hits of the day amid the smell of barbecues. One could almost believe in happiness. Then Landry's traps rise up out of the earth, Zaza disappears and the sky clouds over.
