Fejtől s lábtól

At the turn of the twentieth century a lonely man and a lonely young woman, both doctors, form an unusual pair. Thirsting for knowledge and for useful work, they meet Kolozsvár and the culture of bourgeois Transylvania, its intellectual promise and its spell of progress. The novel draws on newspapers, playbills, surgeons' case notes and spa doctors' plans of the time, turning the theatre of history into the gestures of daily work.
