Tano has always dodged change and let life drift past him; Momo gets hurt again and again and shrugs it off every time. The pair meet by the pond in Ueno and head off together for Lake Kasumigaura, at a dead end where laughing may be all that is left. Two shorter pieces follow: a man who snaps into a frenzy, and madmen fighting on a rooftop.
